Have you ever wanted to make homemade buttercream frosting for your cake, but thought it would be too hard to make? Well, it’s actually incredibly easy to make!
Check out our short video to see just how easy it is.
All you need is 4 ingredients:
- Powdered sugar
- Butter
- Milk
- Vanilla extract
For this recipe, I used
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) of softened butter
- 5 cups of powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
There are, of course, other ways to make it and next time, I will probably opt for more butter and less powdered sugar. Give it a try and see how easy it is to make your own!
To make this recipe, beat the softened butter until it’s fluffy, then add 1 cup of powdered sugar at a time while continuing to fluff with your mixer (find out whether you need a stand mixer or hand mixer).
Once your butter and sugar are blended together, add in your milk and vanilla and mix until it turns into frosting. That’s it!
Feel free to be creative with your frosting and add in some toppings or colors. Find out how we used this recipe to make galaxy frosting.
